A Mother and Son Journey of Insight and Biomedical Intervention

This positive, practical book tells a personal story of hope and provides a wealth of essential information about biomedical interventions for parents of children on the autism spectrum. In the first half of the book, Sally Kirk shares the story of her journey with her son Will who was diagnosed with an autism-spectrum disorder. Though she pursued numerous interventions to help Will, his condition only worsened until age 11 when Sally discovered biomedical intervention. As these interventions were put in place, Will autistic behaviors improved significantly, changing their lives for the better. In the book second half, Sally shows readers how they and their child may benefit from biomedical intervention. Relying on extensive biomedical research from Defeat Autism Now!, Sally presents very easy-to-understand, in-depth descriptions of the most common underlying physical problems found on the autism spectrum, as well as, safe and effective treatments that offer real hope to heal them and their associated autistic behaviors.

Sally Kirk has done a fantastic job taking a very complicated subject and explaining it in away that is easy to understand and even entertaining, while staying true to the science. I think this book is a must-read for every parent of a child with autism and anyone else who wants to better comprehend the medical treatment options for the disorder.
